Holidays in Yosemite

Yosemite Bed and Breakfast is gently hidden down a country lane, nestled in the oaks and pines. It is located just five miles west of the historic gold mining town of Mariposa, and 45 minutes from Yosemite National Park. Leave the city with it's noise and lights and enjoy a night where you can gaze at the brilliant stars in the sky and experience a different kind of quiet, only to be ocassionally interrupted by the song of a bird, the chirp of a cricket or the croak of a frog. Wild life watching and our resident humming birds remain star attractions. Our facilities include an independant, fully furnished 2 bedroom cottage and 2 individual rooms each with their own private bathroom. The cottage sleeps 2 couples or 4 people very comfortabley. It is possible to sleep 6 with the sofa bed.

We stayed at Yosemite Bed and Breakfast during our three day trip to Yosemite National Park. We drove there from Bay Area after work, and by the time we arrived it was around 11:30PM. After we parked, as we walked towards the courtyard of the building Clay greeted us and showed us our room. The room was nice and clean, the bed was comfortable, and we had a great sleep. For the next three days, we had a great breakfast each morning thanks to Joy. Her cornbread was the best I ever had, and it was even better with the honeybutter she prepared. French toast was very good, too, and we topped everything with plenty of her homemade blueberry syrup. After the breakfast we would drive to Yosemite National Park, which takes about an hour, hike all day, drive back, and sleep like a rock. The Inn itself is also nice, overlooking a small valley with hummingbirds, squirrels, and other wildlife all around. You can relax in the courtyard, enjoying the pool or the hammock, or sip your coffee on the porch overlooking the valley. Both Clay and Joy are very nice and I would recommend paying them a visit at their lovely bed and breakfast.

The greatest Base Camp to Yosemite

My friend and I just returned from there. The hosts, Joy and Cray, are incredibly nice and kind, helped us very much. There\'s a nice size of swimming pool so we could cool down from afternoon heat, even the A/C in our room was very strong and comfortable. Breakfast was tasty, decent amount and perfect for the start heading the mountain recreation. If you are planning to visit Yosemite and looking for an affordable accommodation with outstanding service with nice pool, welcoming world birds and hosts, this is the place you should not miss. Stayed here while visiting Yosemite National Park. Clay and Joy were wonderful hosts, and went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. They provided breakfast earlier than normal because we were leaving for an early hike. The view off of the back deck is beautiful with lots of birds and wildlife to watch.

My Favorite Bay Area Getaway

This was my third stay at the B&B;, and every time has been wonderful. The first time was during summer for a family reunion, and we had the whole property to ourselves (not including Clay, Joy, & their adorable dog). We BBQ\'d on the patio, played video games in the cottage, and just really enjoyed ourselves and our hosts - they were part of the "family" by the time we left. Joy even took some time to take family photos for us. The second time was just with just my husband - a winter couples getaway - and although the atmosphere was different it was still lovely. Clay & Joy were gracious, as always. We have loved this B&B; so much that for the last trip, we brought 6 friends with us for a hiking weekend around Yosemite. We all arrived at different times but Clay & Joy made a point to make each group feel welcome. They brought over pastries, fresh fruit & coffee every morning, and chatted with us about our activities and the wildlife running rampant around the grounds. There are hummingbirds, wild turkeys, owls, and a variety of other birds to observe off the back deck. My personal favorite are the adorable little bats that make a brief appearance after dusk. They\'re so cute! This place has become our favorite "home away from home" - I can\'t wait until summer for our next trip!

A hummingbird paradise

Joy, Clay and their dog, Midge, made our stay as wonderful as can be. I travelled there with 7 other friends for a weekend of hiking and relaxing. The cottage was in immaculate shape with all kinds of wonderful little extras (m&m;'s, tea, asian crunchy snack mix, etc.) The towels were clean, the water was hot and everything was freshened up. My favorite areas are the hammock and the wrap around porch - complete with a screened in area to have meals. Out on the porch I spent hours relaxing and watching the wildlife (hummingbirds buzzing past, wild turkeys gobbling their way around the yard and hawks soaring above). Enjoy!

The most relaxing get away

I loved staying at the Yosemite B&B.; The cottage was spacious with comfortable beds, large closets and had separate bathrooms. The view was beautiful and gave a feel of being away from the hubbub of the daily grind. The swimming pool (solar heated) was the perfect temperature. The breakfast was delicious. The host and hostess are wonderful, friendly and thorough at caring for their guests. The thing I liked the least was leaving.
